I had that light gun for my Master System. It was bleedin' awful. The only way he could have hit anything with that thing was if he threw it!

Them SEGA light guns can be lethal, especially when shone in the eyes.

The common myth with light guns is that they produce light. The don't. When you pull the trigger the screen goes black for a split second except for the target area which remains white. If you are pointing the gun at the white bit the sensors in the gun detect it and register the shot.

One of the cheats possible was to point the gun at a light bulb to guarantee a hit. The gun technically does not 'shoot' anything.

This was the reason why many of these light gun games were shit as the science was imprecise and was open to many factors.
